ireadit.ro remembers which books you have read and where they can still be found. That is all. Below is what we keep, why, and who it reaches.

Your account

We keep your name, your email address and a hashed form of your password — the plain password never reaches us. The email is used only to recognise your account.

Your library

For every book you shelve we keep its status (read, reading, want to read), whether it is a favourite, your 1-to-5 rating and your notes. They are visible to you alone.

Your phone camera

The barcode is read on the phone, locally. No photograph is stored or sent. Only the ISBN leaves the scan.

Links out to stores

When you tap a store we pass through an address of ours and record which link was pressed, when, your IP address and your browser type, then send you to the store. We do this to know which books people look for. If you are signed in, the click is tied to your account.

Book data

When a book is not in the catalogue we ask Open Library and Google Books. We send them the ISBN and nothing about you.

Cookies

We use a single session cookie: it remembers your chosen language and, for administrators, your sign-in. We run no advertising cookies and no third-party analytics.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data or for your account to be deleted at any time, and deleting the account takes the whole library with it. Write to [email protected].
